I live in paradise!!

Born and bred in Sydney, we came to Cairns in 1988 and haven’t looked back - for over 30 years we have been lucky enough to enjoy this tropical paradise every day!

Tropical Tastes’ original owner, Elise Preston, loved sharing the exotic range of local tropical fruits to the cruise ship passengers and crew that visit our beautiful shores. After her relocation to Brisbane in 2016, I was delighted to have the opportunity to take over this wonderful business.

I LOVE FOOD, I love cooking…and I love tropical fruits! This was a match made in heaven! Food, travel and family are my biggest passions! On our travel adventures our family loves eating where the locals eat and devouring their locally grown produce and dishes.

Our far north Queensland region has an abundance of local fruit to offer and I wanted to give even more of our regional visitors the opportunity to taste test our goodies, just like the lucky cruise ship passengers we were already enticing!

As visitors are unlikely to buy a whole jackfruit, pomelo or black sapote to just try, I proudly offer tropical tasting plates as an addition to gift baskets - perfect for sampling our local tropical fruits.

Why choose us

No bowls of grapes and oranges, mass produced chocolates or tins of biscuits - I use mostly local produce and products - certainly not things you find on the supermarket shelf!!

Our Tropical Tastes gifts range showcase the amazing diversity of product options our region has to offer. Much pride, passion and care is taken to source and handpick each and every local product to create a beautifully presented and unique gift.
